Visitors and residents of Richmond Hill often possess a foundational understanding of the Civil War heritage shared with neighboring areas in South Bryan County. Historically, the Georgia Historical Society has recognized this significance by placing several notable markers in Richmond Hill and at Fort McAllister.

Nevertheless, there exists a distinctive chapter in Richmond Hill’s history that is exclusive to our community: the Henry Ford Era. In the 1930s, Henry Ford profoundly influenced the region, commissioning the construction of several iconic buildings that embody the historic character of Richmond Hill. This era, alongside Civil War and Georgia historical markers, is thoughtfully integrated into the tour.
